Terms
Version of 22 October 2026
1. Who we are
HeatLoss Pro is offered by AskIT CommV, Walstraat 50H, 9050 Gent, Belgium, enterprise and VAT number BE0743835095. You can reach us through Support on the site.
These terms apply to everyone who uses HeatLoss Pro: people using it for themselves (consumers) and businesses such as installers and engineers. Where a rule is different for consumers or for businesses, it says so. By using the site, or by buying a calculation or a subscription, you accept them.
2. What HeatLoss Pro is, and is not
HeatLoss Pro is a tool for estimating the heat loss of rooms and the heating or cooling they may need, and for sizing emitters, pipes and a heat pump. We believe the calculations are a fair reading of the values you enter, based on a simplified room-by-room method after EN 12831.
The results are estimates. They are not a survey, a design certificate, an energy performance certificate, or a promise of how a building will behave. A real building has more variables than a drawing can hold: how it was built, how it is used, the weather, and the equipment fitted. If a value you enter is wrong, the result can be seriously wrong.
You are responsible for the values you enter and for what you do with the results. Check the inputs, and have an installer or engineer check anything you intend to buy or build from.
3. Using the site, accounts and your drawings
Drawing and seeing live estimates is free. You can sign in with just your email address: we send a one-time sign-in link, with no password. Keep access to your email account safe, since anyone who can read it can sign in as you.
Your drawings stay yours. You let us store, copy and process them only to run the service for you: saving them, calculating them, and showing them to people you share a view-only link with. Without signing in, a drawing that is not used for 90 days is removed; signed in, your projects are kept until you delete them, or until you ask us through Support to close your account.
Floor images (plans, scans, map screenshots) are shrunk and compressed when you add them. Without a subscription, your images and drawings together may take up to 100 MB of online storage. If an account without a subscription goes over that, we may remove its largest images to bring it back under, after telling you by email; the drawings themselves are kept. Subscriptions have no fixed limit, but are meant for normal professional use.
Do not use the site to break the law, to upload content that is not yours to share, to overload or attack the service, or to copy the service or its calculations in bulk. We may suspend or close access that does.
4. Prices and payment
Prices are in euros and are shown before you pay. The price shown is the total you pay; for consumers it includes VAT. Payments are handled by Stripe; your card details go to Stripe, never to us.
A single calculation (now 1,00 €) calculates the design on screen, gives its room-by-room results and report, and includes 20 changes to that design that you can recalculate without paying again. A design changed further than that needs a new calculation.
A subscription (now 29,99 € a month, or 359,88 € a year) gives unlimited calculations and reports for as long as it runs. A first-year discount, when offered, applies to the first year only; the subscription then renews at the yearly price shown when you bought it.
We can change prices for new purchases at any time. A running subscription keeps its price; if we ever need to change it, we tell you at least 30 days before it applies, and you can cancel before then.
5. Subscriptions: renewal and cancelling
A subscription renews automatically at the end of each month or year, and is charged to the payment method you gave, until you cancel it.
You can cancel at any time in your account menu, without giving a reason. Cancelling stops the next renewal: you keep everything the subscription gives until the end of the period you have paid for, and it then ends. Until then you can resume it. Apart from your right of withdrawal (section 6), periods already paid for are not refunded, in part or in full.
If a renewal cannot be charged, Stripe tries again for a short while. If it still cannot be paid, the subscription ends and the account goes back to paying per calculation. Your projects are kept.
6. Your right of withdrawal (consumers)
As a consumer in the European Union, you can withdraw from a purchase made online within 14 days, without giving a reason. The 14 days start on the day you buy.
A single calculation is carried out at once, at your request. Before paying, you ask us to start straight away and confirm that you then lose your right of withdrawal once the calculation has been made. Once it has been made, you can no longer withdraw from it.
A subscription also starts at once, at your request. You can still withdraw from it within 14 days of buying it. We then refund what you paid, less an amount for the days you had the subscription, in proportion to its price.
To withdraw, tell us clearly within the 14 days, through Support or by email, with your account email and what you want to withdraw from. You may use this model text: “I hereby give notice that I withdraw from my contract for the following service: […], bought on […]. Name: […]. Account email: […]. Date: […].” We refund within 14 days of receiving it, to the payment method you used.
Businesses buying for their trade have no right of withdrawal.
7. Our liability
We work to keep HeatLoss Pro available and its calculations correct, but we cannot promise that it is free of errors or always available, and we may change or improve it.
For businesses: the results are an aid to your own professional judgement. We are not liable for indirect or consequential loss, such as lost profit, lost contracts, or the cost of equipment chosen from a result. Our total liability is limited to what you paid us in the 12 months before the claim.
For consumers: we are liable as Belgian law provides. We are not liable for loss caused by values you entered wrongly, or by using an estimate without having it checked as section 2 asks.
Nothing in these terms limits liability for intent, gross negligence, fraud, or death or personal injury, or any right you have that the law does not allow to be limited.
8. Privacy
What we keep about you and for how long is explained in our privacy notice.
9. Changes to these terms
We may update these terms, for example when the service or the law changes. The version and its date are shown at the top. For a running subscription, we tell you about a change that matters at least 30 days before it applies; if you do not accept it, you can cancel before then.
10. Complaints, law and courts
Tell us first through Support: we answer and try to solve it. As a consumer you can also turn to the Consumer Mediation Service (consumentenombudsdienst.be).
These terms are governed by Belgian law. Disputes with businesses go to the courts of Gent. As a consumer you keep the protection of the law of the country you live in, and you can also go to the courts there.
